So I can’t fall asleep right now and I have work early in the morning. Its one of those nights where I can’t get comfortable in any position. So then I know this may sound silly but I self soothe my self like I did as a child. I rock my head back and forth. It helps me a lot actually. I’ve been always “Rocking” . I do it even when I listen to music. So as I am laying in my bed I let my thoughts wonder and then I remembered this tune. It doesn’t have any words that I know of but I remember it. I can’t really explain how it goes, but since its 12 am and my mind is turning, I’m thinking maybe it can be a memory of a tune from before I was adopted? I have a feeling that the rocking back and forth is from back then too. So now I’m looking up Lithuanian Lullabies to see if it a possible fit. Hmm maybe I’m thinking to hard? I’m not sure. So I need a little help. I know there are a few people from Lithuania out there and I was wondering if you can find me links to lullabies that are commonly sung to a baby? I really appreciate it.

I hope all is well. I’m sorry I haven’t been updating so much. I hope everybody has a good day/night! I’m always here if you need anything.

@pretties-a-n-d-kitties

Thanks, I will check it out!!

Just wanted to say - I LOVE this blog! I was among the first group of people ever adopted from China at the age of 4 months, and am from Colorado. I attend a heritage camp every year with other people with families like mine, & love meeting people like me. This is a great idea for a blog!

Thank you so so much! I’m glad you like it so much! That is awesome, I wish I could find a camp thing for Lithuanians. That would be nice. This really makes me smile. I hope all is well! If you ever need anything I’m always here :) Thanks again!

to the anon from before

check out her blog endlessdestinations.tumblr.com she might be able to help you a little bit more than I did :)

Happy Mothers Day!!

to all of the moms out there. Birth moms, foster moms, adopted moms, mothers who are expecting and any other moms that are out there!

I was adopted from Korea by a couple in MI, but I've never really talked about it much w/anyone. I've seen others' share their stories, but most of them have been in-country adoptions. I was wondering if you've gotten other inat'l or interracial stories? It's so strange when I meet people and they think I'm "asian asian," and assume cultural stuff about me, when I'm as white bread as you can get. I've also had to deal with public staring, which is really gross. anyways, love the blog!

I believe I might have gotten one or two stories in the past. I was an international adoption :) I think there are many other International adoptees that follow this blog.  I’m sure any of them would be happy to share their story with you! People don’t get it or people haven’t adjusted to the idea of adoption if that kind of makes sense. I guess it really depends one where you live. For me I know so many people who are adopted. HAha there is 3 kids on my block who are adopted from texas and russia. I guess it depends on where you live. Many people assume things and judge people because its different from what they know. They think a person is asian so they should know everything about the culture, you know what I’m saying? well anyway I hope I helped a little bit! I would love to hear the rest of the story!

Other followers please submit some stories! it’s nice to know that some people can be in a relatable situation that you are in. I hope all is well and if you ever have any other questions please don’t hesitate to ask!

Looking through old journals from a few years ago and seeing all of the letters I wrote to my birth mom.

An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet,
regardless of time, place, or circumstance.
The thread may stretch or tangle, but it will never break.
An ancient Chinese belief

I just gained a couple of new followers :)

I just wanted to say thank you for following this blog :) If you have any questions or would like to share your story with me and other adoptees I would gladly respond and post them. I hope all is well! Thanks again!

So today I went to go get my nails done with my mom and the ladies that were there kept saying that I look like my father….My mom and I were just laughing it off. I sometimes am told by random people that I look like my dad, my mom, and my oldest sister. It’s weird. I guess I should be happy about that in a way… It just brings up a lot of weird feelings. Its hard to explain…. So heres my question to you Have you ever been told you like someone in your family?

just curious
